She's the ultimate book nerd. America's most famous librarian. Now, book reviewer Nancy Pearl is also a successful novelist in her own right.
But this Seattle sensation hasn't outgrown her beloved Ravenna.
"It's a neighborhood," Pearl said.
In fact, every day, rain or shine, she walks, and walks, and walks these friendly streets. Seven miles every day.
Of course, one of her favorite hangouts is the Seattle Public Library's Northeast branch.
"People who come to a library always seem to me to be the best sort of people," she said.
This is where Nancy wrote her novel, "George and Lizzy."
Pearl said, "I found it much easier to work here than to work at home."
Her favorite coffee shop is the nearby Bryant Corner Cafe.
Here, you'll find a quirky collection of teapots, including the one Nancy donated and, of course, the librarian superhero figure from Archie McPhee created in our librarian superhero's likeness.
All part of walkable, readable Ravenna, the perfect neighborhood for a celebrity librarian to feel right at home.
