A new book takes an unflinching look at the situation in Syria in the early days of the Arab Spring uprising and as the situation sharply deteriorated. The Home That Was Our Country: A Memoir of Syria, also traces the author, journalist and civil rights attorney Alia Malek's, family history and weaves it into the overall narrative of the country's troubled history.
Alia will discuss and sign copies of The Home That Was Our Country tonight (Monday, November 13) at 7:00 pm at The Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle (1521 Tenth Avenue, 98122).
