TUMWATER, Wash. - Four people were shot Wednesday morning after a home robbery in Tumwater.

Tumwater Police received calls around 2:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Gerth Street Southwest. Police say four men and one woman were in the home when three men entered, and there was an exchange of gunfire.

Suspects demanded one of the victims remove money from a safe, and police believe money was the motivation behind the attack.

The victims are two 18-year-old Tumwater men, a 34-year-old Tumwater man, a 52-year-old Tumwater woman, and a fourth man, age unknown. Four of the victims lived at the residence.

One suspect remained in the home after police arrived. Thurston County SWAT entered and found him with a self-inflicted injury.

Two of the four people shot were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center and two at St. Peter Hospital. One of them was listed in critical condition. All three suspects, a 42-year-old, a 29-year-old, and a "John Doe," are in custody.

Police believe the robbers targeted that specific home. Officers say they have been called to the home for other incidents in the past.
