Bellevue drivers ticketed for parking more than 24 hours

A new ordinance in Bellevue could cost drivers for parking more than 24 hours in a single block.

The city of Bellevue has passed an ordinance that continues to prohibit parking on public streets for 24 hours. Now they are warning drivers to move their cars to avoid a ticket.

Previously, drivers could move their cars a few inches to avoid a ticket while parked on a public street in Bellevue. The new ordinance will require that a driver move his or her car to another block to avoid a parking infraction.

Tickets will cost drivers $42, before the ordinance the ticket cost drivers $40.

The ordinance takes effect on Tuesday, December 26th.
