The city of Bellevue has passed an ordinance that continues to prohibit parking on public streets for 24 hours. Now they are warning drivers to move their cars to avoid a ticket.
Previously, drivers could move their cars a few inches to avoid a ticket while parked on a public street in Bellevue. The new ordinance will require that a driver move his or her car to another block to avoid a parking infraction.
Tickets will cost drivers $42, before the ordinance the ticket cost drivers $40.
The ordinance takes effect on Tuesday, December 26th.
