Seattle Police accept lip sync challenge: 'It's on'

Seattle Police promised to put out their own lip-sync video in response to a challenge from the Norfolk Police Department.

Police departments across the country are competing in a fierce battle for bragging rights in the form of a lip sync challenge. Now the social media frenzy has spread to Seattle.

The Norfolk Police Department nominated Seattle to go next. The force in Virginia put on a solid performance in their video set to Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk:

Seattle Police announced they were up for the challenge! The department tweeted a reply Wednesday and may have also dropped a set of clues:

As for the clues, a certain Seattle rapper has ties to the phrasing in SPD's tweet, but the department hasn't revealed their song choice yet. Think you know it? Post your answer - or suggestions - on the KING 5 Facebook page.

The viral videos started in Texas, but the challenge quickly spread around the country. Officers started by singing from their patrol cars and challenging fellow forces over social media.

The Corinth Police Department in Texas challenged the Norfolk Police with a version of Miley Cyrus' song Party in the U.S.A.

Norfolk Police replied with: "Don't believe me? Just watch"
