Shots were fired at a high school in Burien Wednesday afternoon, placing the school on lockdown but injuring no one.
The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. at New Start High School. The King County Sheriff's Office says one round was shot from outside the school and went through a window at the school's administration office. The shot hit a cabinet and was stopped by a three-ring binder. No one was hurt.
The school went on lockdown as deputies responded and searched for suspects. The lockdown was lifted a short time later.
The Major Crimes unit is investigating the incident; there were no witnesses, and it's not clear who the shooter was or the motivation.
Investigators plan to look through any surveillance video they may have of the incident.
