TACOMA, Wash. — One person has been found dead after a fire broke out in a unit of a Tacoma apartment building.
The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. Monday on the second floor of a three-story building on North 26th Street, according to Joe Meinecke with Tacoma Fire. Flames then quickly spread up from there.
Firefighters knocked down the fire fairly quickly, but when they went into the unit where the fire started they found a body.
Meinecke said about 12 people have been displaced by the fire. There is no word yet how the fire started.
