With the offseason program kicking off Monday, three members of the Seattle Seahawks have re-signed with the team.
Defensive lineman Branden Jackson, center Joey Hunt, and long snapper Tyler Ott signed their exclusive rights tenders, locking them up with Seattle for the 2018 season.
Jackson opened the 2017 season on the practice squad, but the Seahawks promoted him after Cliff Avril went down with a season-ending neck injury in October. He earned significant playing time as a reserve during the team’s final 12 games, recording 11 tackles and 0.5 sacks while seeing snaps at both defensive end and defensive tackle.
Ott will be looking to maintain his starting role as the Seahawks long snapper for a second straight year. After starting two playoff games at the end of the 2015 season in place of an injured Nolan Frese, he secured the full-time starting gig last summer and appeared in all 16 games for Seattle.
After starting one game as a rookie in 2016, Hunt also spent much of last season on the practice squad before earning a promotion to the active roster in December. Entrenched behind Justin Britt and potentially Ethan Pocic at center, the former sixth-round pick likely will enter camp battling for one of the last roster spots along the offensive line.
