ESPN just released its latest NFL power rankings after the first wave of free agency. Over 80 writers, editors and TV personalities form the outlet’s “power panel,” who ranked all 32 teams.

The Seattle Seahawks have slipped to No. 13, down two spots from ESPN’s “Way-too-early rankings,” which published in February.

“The Seahawks ranked 13th in points allowed last season, the first time since 2011 they ranked outside the top three,” ESPN notes. “With Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett, Sheldon Richardson, DeShawn Shead and Jeremy Lane all gone — and more changes potentially coming — it’s possible Seattle could slip even further.”

The Seahawks have added a few pieces back to their defense via free agency, signing former Vikings defensive lineman Tom Johnson and Shamar Stephen, as well as linebacker Barkervious Mingo and safety Maurice Alexander.

Seattle also re-signed defensive end Marcus Smith and tendered cornerback Justin Coleman, who signed his offer sheet late last week.

Despite a not-so-flashy first couple of weeks of free agency, the Seahawks have attempted to replenish the defensive roster, while keeping the contracts on the less expensive side of the spectrum.
