Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll admitted at Wednesday’s press conference that he is responsible for Seattle’s lack of a run game through the first two games.

“My impatience,” Carroll stated when asked about Seattle’s playcalling. “Figuring that we should be on the board more than we had. It got us to throw the ball a little more than I wanted to and I’m over that. Both games were so close throughout.”

The Seahawks ran the ball with Chris Carson on the first three plays of the game, gaining 13 yards. However, they completely abandoned the run game shortly after, going nearly two full quarters without attempting a single run play.

“I just got a little impatient and we threw the ball a little more than we needed to,” Carroll continued. “I’m just owning up to it, I need to be a little less impatient.”

Carroll and the Seahawks will get another chance to establish a presence on the ground when they square off against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday in their home opener. Kickoff is slated for 1:25 p.m. PT.
