Seattle Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas has remained steadfast in his holdout, electing to skip the entire preseason. Rumors of a possible trade to the Dallas Cowboys have been circling since long before the NFL Draft without any real movement from either side.

A recent report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero indicates Dallas could still be a potential landing spot for the Seahawks star safety.

“The Cowboys remain a trade option for Earl Thomas,” Pelissero tweeted Friday. “But my understanding is multiple other teams have reached out recently about acquiring the star safety. No one has met Seahawks’ asking price yet and they’re not in any hurry.”

With the fines continuing to add up for Thomas, the Seahawks may very well be content to ride this one out until another club is willing to up their offer to a satisfactory number.

“Really there is no progress on any front,” Pelissero explained in the video clip. “There are no contracts happening between the Seahawks and Thomas and really no sense of urgency right now even, even though the season is just nine days away.”

Perhaps Seattle is more focused on Saturday’s roster cut deadline of 1 p.m. PT when the Seahawks must trim their squad to 53 players.
