An young bald eagle found in the middle of the 520 bridge is recovering at PAWS.
Washington State Trooper Ivan Sergeev picked up the eagle after getting a call about the bird last Sunday. The eagle suffered a fractured coracoid, the bone that attaches the sternum with the shoulder. It's crucial for flight.
The eagle "...didn't have the look of a predator in his eyes. He had the look of despair," said Sergeev. He wrapped up the eagle, belted it into the back seat and drove to the PAWS Wildlife Center.
Vets say the eagle's prognosis is 'guarded.' The young male bird is on cage rest and undergoing regular therapy sessions.
