The National Weather Service has a warning for drivers: Beware of black ice.
Most snow that fell on roadways in Western Washington melted Monday afternoon, but the National Weather Service says the melted snow could make a dangerous commute Tuesday morning.

Temperatures fell into the mid-20s and low 30s Monday night and caused wet roads to freeze and form black ice, the National Weather Service said. Black ice is difficult to see and makes roads very slippery, especially on bridges and overpasses.
Areas of freezing fog are also expected during the overnight hours and into Tuesday morning.
Black ice on the road and reduced visibility from fog causes a dangerous combination for drivers heading back to work after the holiday weekend.
The National Weather Service says the area with the greatest impact is likely to be from Island and Snohomish counties and southward in the interior.
Any roads that sufficiently dried on Monday will not have a problem with refreezing, according to the National Weather Service.
