RV fire, exploding ammo force I-90 closure near Snoqualmie Pass Monday night

Both directions of Interstate 90 near milepost 42 were closed for 30 minutes due to an RV fire.

SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — Crews battled an RV fire near Snoqualmie Pass on Monday night that forced Interstate 90 to close.

Both directions were closed for about 30 minutes. The eastbound lanes reopened shortly before 9 p.m. A westbound lane reopened shortly after 9 p.m.

Crews had to maintain distance from the fire because of exploding ammunition, according to Eastside Fire & Rescue. Once it was safe to move in, they began extinguishing the flames.

The fire was extinguished just after 10 p.m.

No injuries have been reported, according to Eastside Fire & Rescue.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
