KIRKLAND, Wash. — Small Business Saturday (Nov. 25) is a big boost for Washington state entrepreneurs and for some, it's the opportunity to try to reach new customers.
For Seattle fashion designer Nazia Siddiqui - the holiday season is part of a long-term goal of opening a brick-and-mortar store.
Currently, Siddiqui's company - Transcend - operates online by selling South Asian-inspired fashions with a focus on sustainability.
Siddiqui said Small Business Saturday is just the start of a full holiday shopping season where she and other small businesses without physical stores will set up pop-shops.
Siddiqui encourages people to shop locally for the holidays and visit new businesses online or in person.
Transcend and several other brands and small businesses will set up at The Village at Totem Lake's Holiday Activation in Kirkland.
