SEATTLE — Since the 1950s, Dana Frank's family has been in the real estate business.
Frank, the current owner and operator of The TD Frank Family Properties in Seattle, said redlining occurred in the Central District - a then predominantly Black neighborhood.
Inspired by her father's ambition and her parents, Gerald and Theresa, working hard - Frank knew she wanted to be part of the continued legacy.
On Juneteenth this year - June 19 - Frank will release her book, 'Get Up and Get On it - Lessons From a Black Entrepreneur on Creating Legacy and Wealth.'
The Frank Family was featured in a KING 5 Facing Race Report in March to discuss racist housing practices in Seattle.
While discussing her book and why she wrote it - Frank mentioned the importance of "changing the narrative."
Frank said it should not matter where you are from or what your circumstances are to create a new path for your family.
The book is available for pre-order with an official release on June 19. For more information, click here.
