A Seattle high school student was arrested Friday after school staff found a loaded handgun in the student’s bag.
The 18-year-old Franklin High School student was called to the principal’s office around 9 a.m., because he smelled like marijuana, according to Seattle Police.
The student disclosed he had a firearm in his bag. Staff called police after they found the gun and a credit card with someone else’s name on it.
The student was arrested for investigation of unlawful possession of a firearm and stolen property.
Police did not find any indications there was a threat of violence against the school.
