Good news for those who frequently travel between Seattle and Vancouver B.C.!
Kenmore Air, in a partnership with Harbour Air, will begin offering direct one-hour flights between Seattle and Vancouver starting Thursday.
The flights will take off twice in the morning between 7:45 am and 8:00 a.m, and twice in the afternoon between 3:45 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. Monday through Friday. Officials say the flight will take only an hour and will help streamline travel for businesses and tourism.
Now tourists will not have to fight their way driving through traffic and wait in long lines at the border.
In Vancouver B.C., the seaplanes will drop you off at Coal Harbour while Lake Union will be the pickup and drop off location in Seattle. There’s also an additional stop at Lake Washington.
Officials said Microsoft President Brad Smith was a key proponent of bridging the 120-mile gap between Vancouver B.C. and Seattle, commonly referred to as the Cascadia Innovation Corridor.
Tickets can be purchased online through Kenmore Air or Harbour Air’s websites. Tickets are going fast for Thursday’s first flights, so you will want to book as soon as possible.
Don’t forget your passport either! Officials said border control personnel will be available upon landing to help process your arrival and let you maximize your time across the border.
To celebrate the launch of this service, Kenmore Air will be taking their ceremonial first flight Wednesday afternoon.
