Report of armed person at Seattle medical facility was ‘case of mistaken identity,’ police say

Seattle police said a report of an armed person at the Seattle VA Medical Center in South Seattle was a case of “mistaken identity on the part of the witness.”

SEATTLE — Police said a report of an armed person inside a medical facility in South Seattle was a “case of mistaken identity on the part of the witness.”

Officers responded to the Seattle VA Medical Center, located in the 1600 block of S. Columbian Way near Jefferson Park, around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of an armed person at the medical facility.

Police were on scene investigating for about an hour before clearing the area.

There are no reports of any injuries.
