Downed tree causes power outage for thousands in West Seattle

Around 6,760 customers were without power as of 4:45 a.m. Friday. Seattle City Light restored power to thousands by 6 a.m.

SEATTLE — Nearly 7,000 Seattle City Light customers were without power early Friday morning.

The outage was caused by a tree knocking down power lines near California Was SW. Seattle City Light said crews were on scene and making repairs.

Around 6,760 customers were without power around 5 a.m. 

That number was down to 1,090 by 6 a.m., according to Seattle City Light.
