SEATTLE — Cosmetic surgery can help patients look refreshed as they age, tighten and lift after major weight loss and provide reconstruction after cancer and surgeries.
Dr. Suzette Miranda, the division chief of plastic surgery at Swedish Medical Center and the medical director of Swedish Plastic and Aesthetics, says plastic surgery has a transformative power.
“It’s not just about reshaping physical appearances,” she said. “It’s so much more than that.”
Swedish Plastic and Aesthetics is the only all-women plastic surgery practice in the Pacific Northwest with three female surgeons. The team performs noninvasive and invasive procedures to help patients feel and look their best. The surgeons reshape a patient’s physical appearance to enhance who they are.
“It’s about what woman and men go through,” Dr. Miranda said. “They reclaim their identity. They restore self-esteem. They regain confidence.”
Noninvasive procedures the practice offers include Botox, fillers, skincare lines and peels. Surgeons also perform surgeries of the face and breasts, liposuction, arm lifts and tummy tucks.
A procedure that is particularly close to Dr. Miranda’s heart is breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery, and Swedish Plastic and Aesthetics specializes in this procedure.
“It’s something very special to me because through this restoration, patients reclaim themselves,” she said.
Dr. Miranda and Swedish Plastic and Aesthetics support Northwest Hope and Healing, a local organization that helps breast and gynecologic cancer patients pay for basic needs during their cancer journey. The organization will be hosting Cork, Fork and Support on February 3 to raise funds for its mission.
