Are Seahawks 'Action Green' uniforms going away?

The NFL is reportedly doing away with it's Color Rush theme for its Thursday night games.

If you're a fan of the Seahawks' "action green" uniforms, take a good look, because they're going away - along with the NFL's "color rush" theme on Thursday Night Football.

That's according to an executive at FOX, the network taking over the Thursday night broadcasts. FOX has apparently decided NFL fans "don't need gimmicks to watch."

I couldn't agree more. Those jerseys are hideous.

Back in 2009, then Seahawks head coach Jim Mora had this to say about kicker Olindo Mare, “If you a kicker in the National Football League, you should make those kicks. We’re not going fight our bleeps off and have the kicker miss to field goals and lose the game. It’s not going to happen.”

Mare missed two field goals that cost Seattle a win against the Bears.

Maybe that ghastly green is the reason Mare missed two field goals that day - because he didn't miss another one the rest of the season.

Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor ended their seasons wearing that green.

So, thank you in advance FOX for the subtraction of the infraction known as action green.
