SEATTLE (AP) — Nicolas Lodeiro's goal was pivotal for the Seattle Sounders in a 2-1 win against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.
Lodeiro converted a penalty kick in the 71st minute to put the Sounders (9-10-2) on top 2-1.
The Sounders also got one goal from Jordan Morris.
The Rapids' (6-9-6) goal was scored by Jonathan Lewis.
The Sounders outshot the Rapids 17-8, with seven shots on goal to three for the Rapids.
Stefan Frei saved two of the three shots he faced for the Sounders. William Yarbrough saved five of the seven shots he faced for the Rapids.
The Sounders visit Los Angeles FC on Friday, while the Rapids will visit the New York Red Bulls on Tuesday.
