PACKWOOD, Wash. -- A log jam backed up Coal Creek in Packwood, Washington, on Tuesday. The water surrounded and eventually destroyed a cabin.

"It's kind of sad," said neighbor Penny Marcus, who has been renting homes along Coal Creek for most of her life.

Marcus said no one was in the cabin when she watched it sink "inch by inch" into the creek Tuesday night.

Down the street, the flooded Cowlitz River swallowed up 30 feet of land and another cabin.

Lewis County Deputies helped dozens of residents across East Lewis County evacuate from flood zones Tuesday night.

No injuries were reported.
