“We are so excited to introduce Jessica to our viewers and for her to join our evening anchor desk,” said Pete Saiers, KING 5 news director. “Her arrival is the result of months of searching for the right candidate. Jessica’s extensive experience, passion for storytelling, and drive for community service make her the perfect addition to our solid evening anchor team.”

Jessica comes to Seattle from KGO-TV in San Francisco, a Disney/ABC owned and operated station, where she anchored the morning newscast. Prior to San Francisco, Jessica anchored at KTNV-TV in Las Vegas and KAMR-TV in Amarillo, Texas.

She's a graduate of USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and has a master’s Degree in National Security and International Affairs from American Military University. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Jessica speaks Spanish and Portuguese. Jessica enjoys volunteering in the community and has dedicated hundreds of hours to non-profits including Girls on the Run, Dress for Success, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and CASA for Children. In her free time, Jessica enjoys the outdoors, traveling, learning about different cultures and meeting new people – and is excited to explore the Evergreen State.

“I am thrilled to be in the Seattle area! The Pacific Northwest is beautiful, vibrant and innovative. I look forward to getting to know my new community and exploring everything the landscape has to offer,” wrote Janner Castro in a note to the KING 5 staff.

Jessica’s tenure will begin tonight on KING 5 at 7 p.m. and on KONG at 9 p.m.
