SEATTLE — Hello! I’m Leah Pezzetti and I am beyond thrilled to call Seattle my new home. I’ve moved around the West Coast my whole life, finally making it to the Pacific Northwest in September of 2022.
I’m excited to join both the weather and the news team as a meteorologist and storyteller. My undergraduate degree is from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in broadcast journalism and my master’s degree is from Mississippi State in meteorology, and I truly love both fields. I’m proud to both forecast and tell environmental stories at KING 5.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, then moved to Bakersfield, California, for a hybrid reporting and forecasting role. I then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to work at KTNV for a similar position. Next, I moved to San Diego, California, where I also forecasted and reported at KGTV. After moving around and exploring the west coast through the years, I can confidently say the west coast is the best coast!
I’ve been nominated for eleven regional Emmy awards and won three of them. I’m also a proud National Press Photographer’s Association member and attribute my passion for shooting and editing to the NPPA’s training.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring and trying new restaurants. I’m also a member of the Junior League and love volunteering through this incredible nonprofit. My tuxedo cat, Secret Agent Mittens (aka Sam), loves to drive me crazy.
