SEATTLE — Hey there! My name is Conner Board and I am the Pierce County bureau chief for KING 5. I joined the KING 5 team in October of 2022 as a multi-skilled journalist/reporter and took on my role as bureau chief in September of 2024. I am proud to both live and serve as a journalist in Pierce County.
Both of my parents are from Washington and I have a lot of family throughout western Washington and across the state! I was born in Snohomish County, but most of my childhood was spent in Reno, Nevada. I have many memories here in western Washington and am very grateful for the chance to make more. I feel like I am back to my roots!
Prior to coming to KING 5, I was a news reporter and anchor at multiple local news stations, including KVUE in Austin, Texas; WZDX in Huntsville, Alabama; and KPVI in Pocatello, Idaho.
I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in music. During college I worked in radio for Cumulus Media, and interned for KTVN in Reno, Nevada and a country music publication in Nashville, Tennessee. I graduated with my master’s degree in legal studies from the University of Illinois, Springfield in May of 2023.
In my free time I enjoy giving back to my community. I have volunteered with various organizations throughout the years that support people with special needs and children in foster care. I also am a lover of all things outdoors and enjoy spending my time in the mountains! I can usually be found backpacking, hiking, skiing, paddle boarding, playing tennis, or playing music.
Have a story idea or a favorite hiking trail? Send it my way!
