Hello! I'm Savannah Welch and am thrilled to continue to call the Pacific Northwest home!
I spent the last two years at KATU in Portland as a morning reporter, fill-in anchor and forecaster. It was during my time in Oregon that I fell in love with the Northwest – especially the incredible fall and summer seasons! A weather and environment nerd at heart, I'm currently pursuing my master’s degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Before moving to the PNW, I started my broadcast career at KBAK/KBFX in Bakersfield, serving California's Central Valley as a reporter, anchor and forecaster.
I was born and raised in Kansas City and San Diego, so I'm a big fan of BBQ and SoCal's amazing beaches! I graduated from Pepperdine University with a bachelor's degree in media production with an emphasis in film and multimedia design. In 2021, I received my master's degree in journalism from the University of Southern California.
When I'm not reporting, you can usually find me at the piano, on hikes or somewhere singing! I'm a classically trained pianist and a huge fan of musical theatre. I've traveled to 18 countries and even performed in a musical during a semester abroad in London.
