SEATTLE — The Auction of Washington Wines (AWW) has released its calendar of events for 2024.
The organization started in 1988 and through many celebrations, more than $63 million has been raised to provide ongoing contributions to three beneficiaries — Seattle Children’s, Washington State University’s Viticulture and Enology Department, and Vital Wines.
AWW was created to raise awareness and growth of Washington wine while benefiting the community.
The Auction program this year begins next month with a trio of wine dinners in Washington wine regions — Woodinville, Walla Walla and Richland.
The Woodinville dinner kicks off the series on Wednesday, May 15, and the group said it's excited to have one of Seattle's top chefs, Surrell chef and owner Aaron Tekulve, as a partner.
This summer, the Auction will take over the grounds at the beautiful Chateau St. Michelle during the Aug. 9 Winemaker Picnic and Barrel Auction. It is the Auction's largest event featuring more than 100 wines paired with gourmet food station. The marquee Gala is set for Aug. 10.
