Launched during Women's History Month, a new talk show "Conversations with KD Hall" will air its fourth episode on KING 5 and KING 5+ at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.
The show is the brainchild of KD Hall, whose nonprofit, the KD Hall Foundation, works to support women and girls in becoming leaders with an added focus on helping young girls of color reach their goals.
The launch of the talk show is part of the mission, according Hall.
"This first season will explore themes such as sports, women, and healthcare, with each episode designed to enlighten and provoke thought," Hall said.
Portia Polo, a Newport High School student-athlete in Bellevue, is the show's junior co-host. Polo will contribute to the show and learn through mentorship and professional experience.
"I want to be able to have more awareness and participation - more people watching women play sports," Polo said.

KD Hall talks with women leaders behind some of the biggest sports brands from across the state. Her roster of powerhouse guests include Sounders Chief Operating Officer Maya Mendoza-Exstrom; Kimi Lee King who is chief operating officer of Vault 89; T'wina Nobles, the CEO of the Black Future Coop Fund; Mari Horita, senior vice president of social impact and government relations for the Seattle Kraken; and Seattle Sports Commission President and CEO Beth Knox.

This episode includes real conversations about mental health, inspiration, and a celebration of the Champions of Change basketball game. KD Hall talks with KJ Wright about life after football, coaching, rebounding after injuries, and making critical career decisions. Doug Baldwin, Cliff Avril, and Bookie Gates share what to expect at the upcoming Friday, June 28th game. KD also welcomes Newport High School standout and Girls on the Rise participant, Portia Polo, who will join the Champions of Change on the court.
The KD Hall Foundation Supporting future leaders
The KD Hall Foundation's mission is to support women and girls in becoming leaders with an added focus on helping young girls of color reach their goals. The foundation runs several programs.
Currently, there are 97 Washington state girls enrolled in the 2024 Girls on the Rise program with another 30 participants in Lagos, Nigeria.
The launch of the talk show is part of the mission, according to founder and show host KD Hall.
Ahead of the pilot launch, Hall held an event to celebrate the show and the foundation's success so far.
Hall said mothers and daughters were welcome to attend, along with fathers and guardians who wished to bring their daughters to experience a resource fair, prize giveaways, and networking event for young girls interested in various professions.
