Everything you need to know about the Evergreen State Fair

The fair is running through Sept. 2 and offers a host of family-friendly options for food and entertainment.

MONROE, Wash. — The Evergreen State Fair is underway in Monroe offering good food, rides, games and entertainment to visitors into early September. 

The fair runs from Aug. 22-27 and again from Aug. 29-Sept. 2. Here's what you need to know if you plan to attend this year.

Ticket information

Tickets for adults cost $16 on weekdays and $18 on weekends. Tickets are $13 for seniors and kids ages 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free. 

Tickets can be purchased online here or at the gate. Tickets bought online do incur a processing fee. 

Entertainment

The fair offers family-friendly entertainment for the duration of its run. 

There are duck races daily, an international lumberjack show, 4H participants will be showing their animals and there will be a draft horse show in the main arena. 

There is a monster truck rally on Saturday. 

People can check out a daily event schedule here to see what's going on the day they head to the fair. 

There will also be a number of concerts at the grandstand that people can buy tickets to at the fair. Josh Turner will perform on Aug. 26, Martina McBride on Aug. 27, a series of tribute cover bands will perform on Aug. 29 and Flo Rida will perform on Aug. 30. Buy tickets here

The fair's carnival rides will be open from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. daily. 

Food

Fisher Scones, a staple fair food for many, is just one of the dozens of fair foods that visitors can enjoy for the duration.

Parking and transit

Weekday parking costs $10 and weekend parking is $15. Disabled parking is available in all fairgrounds parking lots.

Community Transit will take visitors right to the fair. Routes 270 and 271 will take riders to the West Gate. Check out the Community Transit website for more information.
