Macklemore (real name Ben Haggerty) and fiancee Tricia Davis are expecting their first child, the Seattle rapper announced via a video entitled "A Suprise from Ben and Tricia," that was released on YouTubeand posted on Twitter and his Facebook page on Saturday.
Multiple media outlets had been speculating about an upcoming baby announcement.
"We wanted to share the news with you ourselves... Love, Ben & Tricia," Macklemore wrote on Facebook.
Haggerty and Davis were engaged in January of 2013. No date has yet been announced for the wedding.
Macklemore announced on New Year's Day that he and Ryan Lewis will be releasing a new album in 2015. "The Heist," released in October 2012, spawned the No. 1 hits "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us."
