Seattle Men's Chorus: Final dates ahead for 45th year of holiday show

New shows are included this year and virtual viewing is available.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Men’s Chorus Holiday Show has been a Northwest holiday tradition for 45 years.

The group's first rehearsal was held in September of 1979. Three years later, Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) made its first appearance at Bumbershoot.

Fast forward to 2024 and SMC is now among the largest LGBTQ+ identified choruses in the world. The group is always welcoming members and encourages people to audition.

Open auditions are set for Jan. 6 and Jan. 11.

If the final performances sell out, SMC executive director Craig Coogan said people are in for a treat with its live-streaming show. The group has seven cameras set up to give at-home viewers the best sights and sounds possible. The link is then available for two weeks for replays.

Coogan said the chorus is excited to present a family show for those with children who are looking for a shorter performance that also includes sing-along opportunities.
