SEATTLE — Turning 20 years old is a big deal. But for a business in the turbulent restaurant industry, it's massive!
This year, Matador Ballard in Seattle hit the major milestone and is throwing a party to celebrate. The anniversary event will be held Saturday, February 3 at the Ballard Ballroom from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include food, drinks, live entertainment and more.
Matador Ballard opened its doors in 2004. Since then, it's become a popular destination in the Northwest dining scene with nine locations across the region.
The Mexican-inspired restaurant is a 21 and older establishment specializing in tequila and mezcal. In fact, they have the largest selection in the state with hundreds of bottles to choose from. They believe there is a tequila for everyone, and their goal is to help you find yours.
The drinks pair well with the food menu. All of the dishes are scratch-made using the freshest ingredients. We sampled the Grande Nachos, Habanero Shrimp, Baja Fish Tacos and the Grilled Stuffed Jalapenos.
Each of those items is available during Matador's Happy Hour which is every day from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and then from 10:00 p.m. to close. On February 3 and 4 everything on the Happy Hour menu is just $5 dollars in honor of their anniversary. The restaurant will also be donating $1 from each sale to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Matador Ballard is located at 5410 Ballard Ave NW in Seattle. It's open seven days a week.
