SEATTLE — “A nice place for nice people” is the motto of the neighborhood dive bar on 707 E Pine St., which is a sanctuary for creative misfits. The bar offers a safe environment for everyone and has a unique country vibe that's mixed with punk, rock and soul.
“We're kind of a staple. We're like the dive bar of Capitol Hill,” said Linda’s Tavern Manager Amanda O'Hara. “We get to throw a party every single night."
“Little bit of a cowboy theme going on here; it's a tavern,” said bartender Bronte Walker. ”It's kind of like an Old West feel.”
They have a photo booth that is extremely popular among customers and staff, arcade games, and, even better, a big back patio perfect for hot summer days.
A big part of Linda’s success is the friendly, welcoming staff and its connection with the music scene.
“The vibe is always very casual and relaxed,” said Paulo De Morais from Linda’s Tavern.
Let's not forget Linda's tavern was frequented by Nirvana's frontman, Kurt Cobain, and was even named the last place he was spotted before his death.
So, what is the most repetitive question that the grunge fans ask? Yes, you guessed it: "Where was the last place Kurt Cobain sat?"
When it comes to drinks, make sure you try their “Purple Haze," a cocktail made with Empress purple gin, agave syrup and lemon juice, or the “Twisted Sister,” made with Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka and Twisted Tea.
Happy Hour is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. every single day.
Make sure to check out Linda's brunch specials. The kitchen manager, Gustavo, always has something unique to fill you up: classic diner breakfast food and lots of Mexican-inspired dishes.
Linda’s Tavern opens daily: Monday to Friday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m..
"Making sure that people have a good time and also stay safe,” O'Hara said.
