Cuteness overload! Baby Animals and Berries Festival in Snohomish is underway

Swans Trail Farms hosts the event, which includes a petting farm and U-Pick strawberries. #k5evening

SNOHOMISH, Wash. — Swans Trail Farms in Snohomish is celebrating springtime with the Baby Animals and Berries Festival.

For the next two weekends, visitors can interact with newborn barnyard animals and pick strawberries from the adjoining fields.

"We want the interaction, we want you to experience new life,” said co-owner Nate Krause. “Because spring is new life."

Tickets are limited, to keep crowds small for the sake of visitors and the animals.

"One of our prize animals is a baby donkey that was born last Wednesday,” Krause said.

There’s also a Jersey dairy cow born within the past week.

Other baby animals can be gently held.

"We have some bunnies that are really, really young. They're a larger breed but they're really tiny right now,” Krause said. "We have six puppies, they're little Pointer puppies. And we have a lot of kittens, and they are as fluffy as can be."

The kittens will be adopted out when the festival ends.

Guests can also enjoy an afternoon of picking their own strawberries.

"We take you on a tractor wagon out to the fields. We have all kinds of strawberries,” Krause said. “We have Sweet Sunrise. Hood is a huge favorite for everybody."

Kids can also enjoy ziplines, jumping pillows, slides and games.

Families can explore the barnyard without a guide, but staff are nearby to answer questions and help visitors interact with the animals. There are also multiple hand-washing stations.

"I'm a former teacher. My partner (who runs the farm with me) is also a former teacher, and our intention is education," Krause said. "We hope that it's a way for families to get together and hopefully they feel more bonded together as a family when they're here. Have an experience that they can talk about for years to come."

The Baby Animals and Berries Festival continues June 14, 15, 16, 19, 22 and 23. Tickets are available online.

Swans Trail Farms is located at 7301 Rivershore Road.
