MILTON, Wash. — "We had 15-hundred neighbors come out last year for Halloween," said David Herzog. "They stop by all of the time [saying] 'When are you going to finish? When are you going to finish? We can't wait to see it, we can't wait to see it!"
This will be a special year for David Herzog's Dragon Dungeon Cemetery Walk because this year he's asking for donations to help Home Team Harvest.
"I grew up as a welfare child," Herzog said. "Everybody talks about giving back, giving back, giving back. [The walk] is $5 a person or two cans of nonperishable food and 100% goes to Home Team Harvest."
According to Herzog, this year's haunt is going to be his best one ever.
"I have a giant kraken memorial slash headstone with a kraken that's got 8-foot-long tentacles," said Herzog. "I have a giant 40-foot dragon that's on the roof of my detached garage and we even built a haunted house this year."
There are big scares with a big bonus - helping out hungry neighbors.
"I absolutely love it," said Herzog. "I've always been a giver and it's just one of the ways I can give."
David Hezog's Dragon Dungeon Cemetery Walk is located at 504 13th Avenue in Milton. Admission is $5 or two cans of food. All proceeds go to NW Harvest. The hours are:
