TACOMA, Wash. — The Lobster Shop is Tacoma's premiere waterfront restaurant and a favorite among locals.
Since opening in 1981, it's become a place where many celebrate milestones like birthdays and anniversaries. And once you walk inside, you'll understand why.
The restaurant is located on Ruston Way and nearly every table come with views of Commencement Bay, Mount Rainier and the Olympics.
"It's just a place where you feel like you're in the right place," said Amanda Reed who's the beverage director of the the E3 Restaurant Group. "I think people feel good when they're here and of course the food and the drinks are exceptional."
The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. Once unique offering is the progressive oyster happy hour. It runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. Oyster prices start at just $2 and then every hour increases by a $1.
"You can't really find oyster happy hours anymore and I'm someone who used to seek them out," Reed said.
The menu is a mix of fresh seafood and steaks sourced locally from the Pacific Northwest. But if you were to only order one thing, it has to be the Connecticut Lobster Roll. It's hot buttered Maine lobster on a roasted brioche bun and served with shoestring fries. Evening host Saint Bryan called it the best meal in Tacoma!
The Lobster Shop is located at 4015 Ruston Way in Tacoma. It's open daily from 11 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
