SEATTLE — The members of high society inhabiting the Netflix series "Bridgerton" definitely recognize one of their own. Which is why Evening's Jim Dever dressed up in the proper attire - to better relate to the actors and the characters from 1815 they play.
Dever told the actors it gave him new appreciation for what they go through every day.
"Jim, are you wearing a corset," asked Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury in the series.
"Then you have NO idea," said Gold Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte).
But if you think the costumes are elaborate, wait till you see the plot twists in store for Season Three. Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan's characters, Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, appear to be taking their lifelong friendship to new levels.
"It's exciting that there's a new energy each season, there's new themes to explore," said Newton.
Colin and Penelope are at the center of this season's narrative arch. Fans are even calling their Penelope and Colin, "Polin," which Dever pointed out to the pair basically means they've made it.
"Yeah, absolutely. A portmanteau, if you will," said Coughlan. "I feel like I should say that because you're dressed so elegantly.
Other transformations on the way? Perennial mean girl, Cressida, may be finding her heart.
Jessica Madsen, who plays Cressida, said everything changed for her character when kindness entered her life.
"And we see the mask come down and we do see the core of who she is," said Madsen.
Dever asked Hannah Dodd, whose character Francesca Bridgerton comes out this season, and Claudia Jessie if people were getting jealous behind the scenes.
"I mean, I've not heard the end of it from this one. (laughs) No, not at all. They've all been so supportive," said Dodd.
Comic relief in the series has often come from the downfallen Featherington family.
"Because they're so flawed, I find them incredibly lovable and interesting," said Polly Walker, who plays matriarch Lady Portia Featherington.
But this season you may start to see them as leisure class heroes.
"That's how I approach every day that I go to work, that we're the stars," said Walker. "The stars! We're the stars of the show!"
The third seasons of "Bridgerton" promises everything its fans first fell in love with.
"Joyful. Beautiful," said Emma Naomi, who's character Alice Mondrich is elevated in Season Three when her son inherits a relative's estate.
"It feels very much like going home. We feel very comfortable in these characters, with this world," said Ruth Gemmell, the actress playing Lady Violet Bridgerton.
But I can't imagine they feel comfortable in these clothes.
The first four episodes of season three are now playing on Netflix and the second four episodes of the season come out June 13.
