SEATTLE — Expect the streets of the Chinatown International District to be blocked off Saturday and bustling with music and food vendors.
It's all part of the 4th annual CID celebration at Hing Hay Park on Maynard Avenue.
Organizers with the Greater China Hong Kong Business Association of Washington (HKBAW) say the celebration of cultures is a big opportunity for the neighborhood to show itself in a positive light.
"We think it's very important because we want to bring the community together," Michael Tong, president of HKBAW said. "People can enjoy the live music and the weather, the community and all of the food and events so it will be a very nice fun day for family and friends together."
The CID celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Later this month, on the 21st of September, the popular night market returns to the Chinatown International District.
The all ages street festival features vendors, food, arts and crafts, cultural performances and much more.
A CID staple since 2006, the free festival happens from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
