Pierce County dominates morning radio trivia game

New Country 98.9 The Bull morning show host Fitz says the South Sound has won the "County Wars" trivia contest for a third time

It's safe to say Washingtonians have tremendous regional pride about living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. But there's also a special pride in representing one's county.

County Wars is a trivia game on New Country 98.9 The Bull.

Every weekday morning on New Country 98.9 The Bull, the radio hosts have a little fun with county pride. People from different Western Washington counties call into the Fitz in the Morning show to compete in a trivia showdown called County Wars. At the end of the month, the county that tallies up the most wins gets their own song -- and listeners are invited to be in a music video shot in their own county.

Pierce County won for the third time -- and Evening went behind the scenes of their video shoot at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup.

"As you can see, Pierce County is very proud of the fact they won the month of August for county wars," said radio host Fitz. "Pierce is dominating, not gonna lie to ya... the Snohomies need to up their game a little bit."

Listen to Fitz in the Morning at 6:40 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. to hear your cue to call in to play County Wars. The number is 855-552-2989.
