Drink beer & save whales at this Seattle brewery

The new IPA from Two Beers Brewing Co. benefits and brings awareness toward Southern Resident Killer Whales. Sponsored by Two Beers Brewing Co.

SEATTLE — Talk about a win, win! You drink beer. And can help save whales.

Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW) benefit from a new partnership between Two Beers Brewing Co. and The SeaDoc Society

Two Beers' new brew called "Southern Resident Killer Whale Chinook Hop IPA" was just released. With every purchase, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to SeaDoc which funds and conducts scientific research to protect animals living in Pacific Northwest inland waters.

Every purchase of Southern Resident IPA at Two Beers Brewing Co. helps benefit The SeaDoc Society.

The recipe for the IPA was carefully chosen using Certified Salmon Safe Chinook Hops, a nod to the primary food source of the SRKW. The fresh beer can be had for the first time today at The Woods Tasting Room and will be available for sale elsewhere within the week. Target, Bartell Drugs, Metropolitan Market and Total Wine will be among those offering Southern Resident IPA.

The outside of the beer box sold in stores has a QR code you can scan with your smartphone (no app required). That will redirect you to The SeaDoc Society website, where you can learn more about SRKW and how to get involved in saving the beloved Puget Sound sea creature.

"There are 76 of these animals left. And these are amazing, intelligent animals the live right here and call this place home... the time to act is now," says SeaDoc's Justin Cox.
