Evening reporter Jose Cedeno goes for the extreme when it comes to his stories and this is no exception. Jose takes on his most daring challenge yet and faces off against a professional mixed martial arts fighter.
MMA is a very popular contact sport, and really is there anything more extreme?
Jose visits a local premiere mixed marital arts gym to see just how extreme it is.
"We have an MMA gym that offers mixed marital arts programs. We teach boxing, kick-boxing, muay thai, jiu-jitsu, judo, wrestling, submission wrestling and then obviously the combination of it all which is MMA," MMA trainer Ivan Salaverry explained.
He explained that a MMA gym is different.
"This is not a 24-hour Fitness, it's not lifting weights and doing aerobics. You come in here and you start learning a skill-set."
MMA is a life commitment if you want to do it in a cage and you want to make a living out of it.
"A ginormous misconception is that it is a horrendous, brutal, blood sport and it isn't."
At Ivan Salaverry MMA, Heavyweight UFC veteran and former heavyweight champion Anthony Hamilton agreed to take on "Extreme Jose.
