'Found' stars talk Season Two's intense game of cat and mouse

Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar talk about what to expect in the new season of the NBC drama. #k5evening

SEATTLE — In Season One of “Found” a kidnapper had the tables turned on him, but it all implodes in Season Two – including the Missing Person’s Team run by Shanola Hampton’s character Gabbi.

"So, you're going to get to see them really having to work through their relationships, but it will never be the same,” Hampton said. "What we try to do, and I think the writers do a great job of doing it, is make it authentic to human behaviors and human responses, which means it takes time."

It's also a different dynamic for Mark-Paul Gosselaar who plays serial kidnapper, “Sir.” He’s escaped from Gabbi’s basement opening up new possibilities for the character.

"I get to act with some of the other cast members on the show. Last season, I just thought it was a show between Shanola and I,” Gosselaar said. “I forgot that there was a whole other procedural to watch and there was a whole other cast. But, yeah, we'll see Sir sort of put his finger on each one of the team, on M and A. It'll be pretty interesting this year."

What’s still the same is the mission to give a voice to the forgotten and find missing people before time runs out. But to make that happen…it seems Gabbi still needs Sir.

"I think that for Gabrielle or Gabi, she was groomed this way, and it's very hard to break those ties," Gosselaar said. “There's some things that happened to Gabrielle during the time that Sir had her in captivity and directly after that, that will kind of expose why it's not so easy for her as a victim to release the grasp that sir has on her."

So, the game of chess continues taking the audience unsure of who is winning on a ride filled with twists and turns.

“It goes back and forth. That's the game of cat and mouse, the control, the dynamics. It changes in an episode four times,” Hampton said. “So, throughout the season, it will change quite a bit, and one of them always has the upper hand, that's for sure.”

“I'll accept that answer,” Gosselaar said.
