'Law & Order Organized Crime' star shares 3 behind-the-scenes secrets

Danielle Moné Truitt on who's the biggest goof-off and why playing Belle helps her play Bell. #k5evening

SEATTLE — Before actress Danielle Moné Truitt was the no-nonsense Sergeant Ayanna Bell on NBC's "Law & Order: Organized Crime" she tried out for "Beauty and the Beast" in the 6th grade.

"I auditioned to play Belle and I got the role of Belle and look at me now, I'm Bell again!" the actress from Sacramento said.

The two roles don't just have a name in common.

"They both had to deal with a beast," Truitt said. "Belle had to deal with The Beast and Bell has to deal with Stabler and he can be a beast at times!"

Elliot Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni, is the flinty eyed and always intense undercover cop at the center of this drama. "Law & Order Organized Crime" is a serious show with serious characters. Are they serious on set?

"Oh no. You would think that we are either on a playground, or like this was a comedy, because all we do is laugh," said Truitt. "We're all involved in the shenanigans that happen before before they say 'rolling'."

The person who pulls the most shenanigans?

"Oh Chris," Truitt said. "It is definitely Chris, he is he is a jokester, and He's so silly. He is definitely the ringleader of the silliness."

It's tough work fighting organized crime, even in a scripted drama. So we asked Truitt what Sgt. Bell would do on a day off.

"I think she would like take herself on like a maybe a little day trip somewhere where she could just like have a drink, relax. Maybe get a massage, just rest her nerves. That's what I think she needs to do," Truitt laughed.

It's an all new season for the show, and we are all here for that episode of "Law & Order: Organized Crime."
