BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. — When two tech executives went looking to build a waterfront dream home, they found the perfect area and architect on Bainbridge Island.
"They were really set into wanting to enjoy the views to experience beach life," said Peter Brachvogel the architect of the home and BC&J Architecture. "We hear an awful lot about the modern farmhouse, but this is really about a beach house and light and nurturing a family as they grow."
Now that family is moving on, leaving this one-of-a-kind home in search of a new owner.
"They always say that less is more. And this house feels that way," said Ty Evans, the co-listing agent of the home for Windermere Real Estate.
“We have a beautiful large kitchen with seating at the island, which is wonderful. There are back pantries, and all the cabinetries were all custom with slide-out drawers," said Evans. “The French doors, and they're 14 feet tall, so when you open those and you open the ones on the side, it's just the breeze and the smell of the ocean."
In the east wing of the house, you'll find places to play and stay.
"That side of the house is really like a guest suite wing. There's a guest suite up top on the second floor above the garage," Evans said. "They created a multi-flex room is what I would call it. There’s a kitchenette, there's a refrigerator and a wine bar. It's a big entertainment room. He has a golf simulator that he has in there too.”
The nearly 4,000-square-foot home has three bedrooms including the picturesque primary bedroom.
"The primary is one of my favorite rooms. It would be very hard to get out of bed and go to work because the primary bed looks straight out to the water and out to the mountains," said Evans. "In the master suite is a big walk-in closet. The master bath has a soaking tub, beautiful granite countertops, shower."
If you think the inside is impressive, the outdoor spaces are equally stunning.
"The gardens are, they reminded me a lot of Carmel. It's the sweeping grass, roses," Evans said. "They created a beautiful walking path down to the building that's down below and we call that the boathouse. But it's really not a boathouse. It's their home office. And then they also put some exercise equipment in there so it's part gym."
"The seamlessness between interior and exterior was something that was really important to them," Evans said.
Modern luxury meets mother nature - the new owners of this Bainbridge Beach House will get the best of both worlds.
"It's what Bainbridge Island is all about," Evans said.
The Bainbridge Beach House is on the market for $4,488,000
