When Rhea and Janet Wallace went looking for a place to build their dream getaway, they looked just about everywhere, but their search always lead them back to one place.
"We were always staying at Suncadia, and some gentlemen that sold real estate said, ‘Why do you always stay at Suncadia, but yet you're looking at all these other places?’ And I said, well they got everything.”
The Seattle couple made their dream a reality when they had a home built in one of Suncadia's more secluded neighborhoods, Nelson Preserve. It’s the newest community in Suncadia away from the Resort Core.
"We're active hikers and bikers and just like the idea of having trails right outside our door."
The new neighborhood has several homes for sale, or if you choose, you can have one built. There are view lots, Mountain View lots and interior lots available.
One of the best benefits of living in Nelson Preserve is being so close to one of the resorts best places, the Nelson Farm. Suncadia’s Joe Walsh gave us the tour.
"We've brought some new amenities to the farm. Trying to make it a place that our residents and local community and can enjoy. The Barnyard BBQ just started this year. The barn, as well as local bands with a great BBQ, spread as well as a new event pavilion."
And there's more planned for the future.
"We're bringing a resort community pool to the farm. And it's going to be a fabulous project. We'll commence construction this fall."
Having the new pool so close for their daughter is another reason why the Wallace’s are glad they made Suncadia their place to escape.
"It will be nice to have that right literally, in our backyard."
