EATONVILLE, Wash. — Ten years ago, Jeremy Foust was working in an office, watching the seasons change through a window.
“I had two young kids at the time, and I asked what can we do that makes all of us happy? What can we do that it's not just doing the daily grind, you know?"
His answer, to his own amazement, was running a dairy specializing in goat's milk. He'd never owned a goat in his life until then.
Now Jeremy and his family-run Left Foot Farm in Eatonville and supply raw goat's milk from Seattle to Olympia.
The babies are a joyful byproduct of the dairy industry. The "kidding season" begins in early January, and is a welcome herald of spring.
Once born, these babies will be bottle-fed for another 6 to 8 weeks, then put up for adoption to good homes.
