PUYALLUP, Wash. — Of course there are all kinds of things to do at the Washington State Fair. If you'd like to follow Saint Bryan's itinerary, start your day at Impact Concessions. That's where we tried "Ants on a Log". The recipe involves a celery stick, peanut butter, and a generous scoop of black ants. Saint says the peanut butter overwhelms any flavor the ants might have, and you can't really feel the tiny ant legs even when you swallow.
Next, we visited the Piglet Palace. Newborn piglets--some just days old--are on display. We learned pigs like to snuggle snout to snout and some dream just like humans.
Our third stop is the midway where Saint tried his hand at the balloon darts carnival game. The trick is to hit the balloons with the most air because a floppy balloon is nearly impossible to pop.
Our final stop is the 100 foot tall Grand Wheel. Here is where you'll get the best view of the fairgrounds so you can make plans to celebrate the state.
The Washington State Fair runs through September 22, 2019.
