Los Angeles, CA -- With over 350 million copies sold since its debut in 1992, the popular kids' book series Goosebumps has given millions of youngsters all over the world their very first scare.
Since Goosebumps the movie will be the first semi-scary film for many kids, we asked the star of the film, actor Jack Black, what was his first big scare when he was growing up.
Black said, "I went and saw Alien when I was too young. Alien was too scary. That's an example of a movie the crossed the line but it wasn't for kids it was rated R. What was I doing watching it when I was 10 years old? I thought I was ready. I was 10. I thought, I'm a man now. I can see that movie. That trailer looks cool. Thanks a lot Ridley Scott. I couldn't sleep for like a month!"
Rest assured, Goosebumps is nowhere near Alien on the scary scale. But for first time watchers, it may be the perfect gateway horror film.
